If a computer can’t keep up recording 4K
If a computer cannot keep up recording 4K during a take, SureTake shows a pop-up to that person and to the host or a producer, recommending they stop the take and restart it in 1080p. Nothing changes automatically while the take is running.
Restarting in 1080p keeps the recording smooth and reliable. If you want to try 4K again later, you can switch that camera back to 4K from the camera menu.
If it keeps happening, the computer is usually the limit. It helps to use a powerful, modern machine, close other apps, and avoid any low-power mode or running on battery. Some camera companion apps, such as Insta360 or Opal, add CPU load when their smart features are on, which can strain 4K. See Technical requirements for the full picture.
A fast, stable internet connection matters, too. Because 4K files are large, the upload often runs behind the recording and keeps going after you stop the take. That is normal: the status stays on Saving, the recording is safe on the device, and nothing is lost.
