Why is the camera light on?

While a recording is running, your camera's indicator light may stay on even if your video is off. That is what lets you turn your video on at any point during the recording.

While your video is off, nothing from your camera is recorded or visible to others. The light goes out when the recording stops, or when your video is off outside of a recording.
