Changing your guest's mic and camera settings
The host or a producer can change a guest's microphone or camera settings mid-session. Open the Participants panel from its icon in the right sidebar, and each person's microphone, camera, audio output and echo cancellation is a dropdown showing what they are on right now.
Echo cancellation follows whether they said they are wearing headphones. It updates within a few seconds when someone switches devices, so it is the easiest way to check a guest is on the right mic, with their exact device names in front of you.
To change one for them, pick a different option and that guest gets a prompt asking them to allow it. Devices can only be changed while recording is stopped, so get everyone set before you hit record. Audio output is the exception and can be changed any time. A guest's camera can still be turned on or off during a recording, with their consent, but switching to a different device requires recording to be stopped.
When you turn a guest's camera off during a recording, their camera's indicator light may stay on, but nothing from their camera is recorded or visible to others while it is off. See Why is the camera light on?
The same panel also shows a live status for everyone during and after recording. See What do the statuses in the Participants panel mean?
