Getting notified about client recordings

There are two types of notifications: what your studio receives, and what a client sets up for themselves.

Studio side

When a client's recording finishes, you can be notified two ways: an email to your studio notification address, and/or a webhook into your own tools (Zapier, Make, Descript, Slack, etc.). Each is toggled independently per client in Manage Clients, so you can email one client, webhook another, do both, or neither. Either way, expect it usually within about ten minutes of the session ending, once the recording has finished processing. 4K recordings take longer to process.

Client side

Separately, a client can add their own notification email on a show, for example to loop in a VA. The two sides are independent, so any combination can be active at once. For the webhook option, see the Webhooks & Automations guide.

Regarding sent notifications

A webhook and the initial notification email are each sent once, carrying the title and notes exactly as they stood at that moment. Clients can edit the session title or notes after the fact, but they will be warned that the notification has already been sent.

If you access a share link at any time, it will display the most recent version of the notes and title. However, a webhook will only ever contain what was there when it initially fired.

As good practice, clients should choose a proper session name before joining, though they do have a few minutes after finishing to rename it and make any further note adjustments before the notification fires.
